New Fathom Publication

In May 2019, my essay "Terrible Grace" was published in Fathom Magazine. I was honored to be part of this publication, and I've been hoping to contribute again ever since.

And then 2020 happened. It was a rough year for everyone. Since I'm in the high-risk group, I've been more or less quarantined for over a year. And I had a baby at the beginning of the pandemic. I lost friends. I spent a lot of time on Zoom, trying to stay connected to friends and in-laws.

And the new Dune film was delayed a year. (Not as important, of course, but still pretty disappointing.)

Life hasn't been easy, to say the least.

This month I'm honored to be featured in Fathom yet again. My essay, "The Family Legacy," doesn't explicitly touch on 2020 and the pandemic, but it's been informed by it. You might see traces within the lines.

So go on and check out the April 2021 History issue of Fathom. (And if you like what you read, I encourage you to consider becoming a patron!)
